Climate types:

Northern & Coastal (along the Mediterranean Sea) regions:

  • Hot and dry summers
  • Cool and rainy winters
  • Rainy season lasts from about October through May with it’s rainiest months being December-February.
  • Tel Aviv (The orange line on the graphs below) is on the Mediterranean coast.

Southern and Eastern regions:

  • Arid/Dry
  • The Sharav or Khamsin is a hot desert wind storm that Israel experiences for days at a time.
  • The Negev desert is in the southern region of Israel
  • Jerusalem (the green line on the graphs below) is toward the eastern half of Israel.

Seasonality:

Northern & Coastal (along the Mediterranean Sea) regions:

  • Snow is extremely rare throughout the country except for the highest/northernmost regions (Golan Heights, Mt Hermon Summit)

Southern and Eastern regions:

  • Hot Summers
  • Mild Winters
  • Rain is unsubstantial in the all the way from the Negev through Eliat.

Orange: Tel Aviv
